Google expands side panel to other G Suite apps, Google is expanding the side panel that the search engine giant added in the revamped version of Gmail to other G Suite apps, attempting to make navigation and multi-tasking for users smoother and quicker.

One of the best features of the new Gmail is its quick-access side panel with easy access to Google Calendar, Tasks, Keep and your Gmail extensions. Now Google is expanding the quick-access side panel to other G Suite apps including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, and more.

In Google Calendar, you’ll be able to quickly access Keep and Tasks, while in the rest of the G Suite apps, you’ll get easy access to Calendar, Keep and Tasks.

Google expands side panel to other G Suite apps with the new sidebar, users would be able to access three G Suite products from Docs itself – Sheets, Slides, and Drawings.

The side panel was rolled out to Gmail earlier this year to enable users to quickly navigate through Google apps like Tasks and Calendar via a sidebar, enabling users to edit their to-do list and manage their schedules without having to leave your inbox.

How will this new feature help you to quickly access?

Google expands side panel to other G Suite apps, Google says the feature will help you to quickly access the features of Calendar Keep and Tasks from within Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drawings.

This new addition to the G Suite also gives users the liberty to minimise the side panel. The feature will allow you to do a number of things including –

# Google Calendar: Quickly reference, create or edit invites.

# Google Keep: Easily take notes, create lists, and see your other content.

# Google Tasks: Manage your tasks and to-dos.

If you don’t like the side panel or feel it makes a Google app too cluttered, you can also minimize it to keep it out of the way.

As per the report of the Google, they will be rolling the feature out to all G Suite users over the next two weeks, so keep an eye out for this additional functionality in your G Suite apps.
