How will this New App extend your smartphone battery life?

How will this New App extend your smartphone battery life … The researchers have developed an app which smartphone users can use to reduce the energy consumption of their devices without any significant impact on performance. This application can extend the smartphone battery up to 1 hour per day.

What is the reason for excess energy consumption of your smartphone battery life?

New App will extend your smartphone battery life new research out of the University of Waterloo has found a novel method to extend the battery life of smartphones for up to an hour each day.

# Battery life of smartphone has been a big issue for many of us. As great as a phone may be, battery life just never seems to be that great, especially when your device is loaded with applications that you use almost all of the time.

# What happens now is that you put the phone on a charger for the night and when you leave home the next day the battery is at 100 percent, but there is a lot of behind the scenes computation and communication going on, and it drains the battery by midday charge is reduced to 30 percent. So, you need to charge the battery many times in a day, is really a big pain.

# The built-in multi-window feature released with the new Android operating system allows users to have multiple windows and files open at the same time similar to a laptop, but this results in unnecessary energy drain.

# Due to the excess energy consumption, the phone becomes warmer and warmer while the frequent charging reduces the life of the battery. So, batteries that are meant to last for three years may have to be replaced in two years, as per researchers.

Scientists, including one of Indian origin, have developed an app where the New App extend your smartphone battery life it can help smartphone users reduce the energy consumption and extend the battery life of their device for up to an hour each day. An app which users can install on their devices and use to reduce the brightness of non-critical applications.

The app was evaluated in an experiment involving 200 smartphone users, who downloaded the software on their devices and used it while they had multiple windows opened. It was found that when the energy saving technique was used it extended their battery life by 10 to 25 per cent.

# New App extend your smartphone battery life this application can extend the smartphone battery up to 1 hour per day.

# A team of researchers developed an app called MultiDroid for Android smartphones with OLED screens that will help preserve battery life, but only if you’re multitasking.

# This app is pretty much designed with Android phones in mind, namely because it will take advantage of the built-in multi-window feature.

# Basically what this app does is that whenever apps are open via multi-window, it will reduce the brightness levels of non-critical apps, which in turn will help reduce the amount of battery the phone’s display is draining.

#  Users can install the app on their devices and use to reduce the brightness of non-critical applications.

# So, when you’re interacting with one application, the brightness of the other window goes down thereby reduces the energy consumption of the device.

# Also, when the smartphone repeatedly consumes excessive energy, it may be necessary to replace the battery that should be used for 3 years with 2 years, as the battery deteriorates, therefore the application will also help to reduce such ‘waste of battery’.

# It was found that when the energy saving technique was used it extended their battery life by 10 to 25 per cent.

# However, since the developed application is intended for Android devices, it is impossible to increase the battery duration of iPhone.

Notably

It was found that the app managed to extend battery life by as little as 10%, but as much as 25%. The app cannot be downloaded by the public at the moment, as well as there is no information that whether it will be a built-in feature or regular app.

Unfortunately, though MultiDroid won’t be able to work on devices with LCD screens and will only be useful on phones with OLED screens, given that OLEDs are able to dim or turn off individual pixels while LCD works differently on mobiles and pixels cannot function independently of each other.
