WhatsApp Dark Mode spotted again with Forwarding Info & Fingerprint Authentication in Beta Mode

WhatsApp Dark Mode spotted again with Forwarding Info & Fingerprint Authentication in Beta Mode as I have already mentioned in my earlier post that WhatsApp is working on a new Forwarding Info feature along with the Dark mode and Fingerprint Authentication feature for Android Beta Version.

Now let us see what new changes the company brings with those three features

WhatsApp Dark Mode feature with the update

# WhatsApp is also actively working on improving its dark mode.

# Last week we saw that the company had successfully built the settings section of the app along with the status bar in the dark mode.

# According to the report by WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp Dark Mode feature has once again been spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.19.85 update.

# While the future is still in the development phase, the report says that when the Dark Mode option is enabled, WhatsApp shows a Dark Status Bar.

# On the other hand, in the 2.19.87 beta update, the dark mode was also seen working on the Profile section.

# Although these are just traces spotted in the code and the dark mode feature has officially not been rolled out for beta testers.

# At the moment, there is no word as to when the dark mode will arrive on WhatsApp for Android via a stable or beta update.

WhatsApp Forwarding Info feature with the update

# The new Forwarding Info feature will inform users the number of times a message has been forwarded, and a frequently forwarded label.

# A previous beta had the above-mentioned feature disabled by default specifically version 2.19.87.

# The WhatsApp beta 2.19.87 update has finally enabled the message forward info feature.

# All users who received the beta update can now see the number of times a message has been forwarded.

# However, we found that this information is available only when you are the sender of a message that has been forwarded to multiple users.

# This can be verified by long-pressing the forwarded message and tapping on the information icon (‘i’ in a circle) at the top.

# However, if you have received a forwarded message that has been sent to multiple users, you cannot check the number of times it has been forwarded.

# Additionally, the ‘frequently forwarded’ tag which was spotted recently for messages that have been forwarded more than four times is nowhere to be seen in the latest beta build.

WhatsApp fingerprint authentication update feature

# WhatsApp has updated its Android beta app to version 2.19.83, and traces of a new Authentication feature were spotted.

# The Authentication feature will let WhatsApp users lock their account, and unlock it using a fingerprint sensor.

# This feature should be enabled in Settings >Account >Privacy > Use Fingerprint to Unlock.

# Once it’s enabled, WhatsApp will register your fingerprint.

# It will then ask if you want the app to be locked immediately (after you leave the app)/ after 1 minute/ after 10 minutes/ or after 30 minutes.

# WhatsApp will show a sign indicating to users that they need to unlock the app using fingerprint authentication.

# It will show an error if the app is not unlocked after multiple tries.

# Like the default Android system, too many failed attempts will lock you out the app for a few minutes.

# The feature would offer an extra layer of protection for WhatsApp users who worry about easy access to their messages.

# There’s likely a PIN backup option for this if the fingerprint reader fails.

# As mentioned, this feature isn’t enabled yet, so you won’t see it even if you are on the latest beta version 2.19.83.

# This feature should roll out for beta users in next updates.

# Although, iPhone users already have the feature in the stable version of the iOS app, and apart from fingerprint authentication via Touch ID, facial recognition via Face ID is also available to them.
