What are the limitations in WhatsApp Mic Feature?

# Although the mic feature understands punctuation marks like comma, question mark and exclamation mark, there are plenty of punctuation marks in English Grammar which it fails to catch like hyphen, semicolon, dash, colon, apostrophe and most important full stop.

# Instead of putting in the symbols, it shows these marks in texts. It also understands slash.

# It means a few inconsistencies are found during dictation tests like when you say “full stop” it writes the word instead of putting a ‘.’

# You will have to manually edit your message by typing if you want to send an error-free message to your contact.

# One has to finally push the send button in order to push the message. The feature is good when you need to type longer messages.

WhatsApp adds Private Reply feature

# The new WhatsApp update 2.19.11 adds Private Reply feature for iOS users.

# The “Reply Privately” feature allows a user to send a private reply to another person in a group chat.

# It means Reply Privately feature lets you send message to a group member without other group participants knowing about it.

# Tagging feature keeps you inside the group chat whereas the Private Reply feature takes you to personal chat window.

# This is different from the tagging feature that has been on WhatsApp since quite a long time.

# Tagging feature sends you an phone alert if someone tags you even if notifications are muted.

Therefore these are the two interesting features, whatsapp mic feature and private reply feature are the latest update by WhatsApp.

Notably

Click on the mic icon to start dictating a message. It does seem to understand when to put ‘,’ when one says “comma” and ‘?’ when “question mark” is said. However to add the symbol for the full stop, one has to say the word itself.
