WhatsApp Privacy Setting for Group Invites in Android, iPhone Beta WhatsApp on Wednesday announced that it is rolling out a new privacy setting that will help you decide who can add you to groups, preventing spam additions that have been a major issue for many users.

The instant messaging app is bringing an invite system for groups to essentially give users the choice of joining the group.

Recently, the company added ‘tipline’ feature to tackle the fake news issue, especially with the General Elections 2019 of the Country just around the corner.

As per the report, WhatsApp groups continue to connect family, friends, peers and more. As people turn to groups for important conversations, users have asked for more control over their experience.

In the new privacy setting and invite system, users would have more control over the group messages they receive.

How to get the new privacy settings for WhatsApp groups invites?

# The new WhatsApp group invite settings are now visible in the v2.19.92 beta and the latest v2.19.93 beta for Android, and the v2.19.40.26 beta for iPhone.

# It is simple to get onto the Android beta via the Google Play beta testing programme, and alternatively, sideload via APK Mirror.

# It means Android smartphone user can try the new privacy settings for Group invites, by simply join the Google Play beta programme, or sideload the app version from APK Mirror

# It’s a bit harder to do so for iPhone users, as they will need to be a part of the limited TestFlight programme.

# Yet as per the report of WABetaInfo the WhatsApp beta version 2.19.40.26 for iOS is slowly rolling out to users.

# With the new Privacy Settings, you can have complete control over who can add you to the WhatsApp group.

# The new privacy settings for WhatsApp groups invites is meant to help users choose who can add them to groups.

# It can be accessed by going to Settings > Account > Privacy > Groups.

# Here, you can select between EveryoneMy Contacts, and Nobody.

# If you select the Nobody option, you’ll have to approve joining every WhatsApp group to which you’re invited.

# However, the My Contacts option will enable users you have in your address book to add you to groups.

# There will also be the Everyone option that won’t add any restriction.

Notably

The invitation will expire in 72 hours, and you will be able to see the Group Name, Description and Members before you tap on “Join.”
