# The Forwarding Info feature informs users how many times they have forwarded a message.

# It is available in the Message Info section of individual chats and is available only for the sent messages.

# If users want to know how many times a message has been forwarded by them, all they need to do is forward the message again and check the count in the Message Info section.

# WhatsApp’ s updated ‘Forwarded’ message feature will also help keep a check on the fake news.

# The Frequently Forwarded feature, on the other hand, will show users a special message if a message that they have received has been forwarded more than four times.

# To put it simply if users receive a message that has been forwarded more than four times, WhatsApp, instead of showing a ‘Forwarded’ label on the top left corner of the message will show ‘Frequently Forwarded’ label in the same place.

# This feature is being rolled out to help users understand that if a message has been forwarded too many times on WhatsApp, it might contain fake news or wrong information.

# This means that users will not be able to see the complete chain of forwarding in such a case. Instead, users will have to rely on their instincts to judge whether the message is legitimate or not.

Notably

The feature may be rolled out for Android devices soon enough. However, no such feature was spotted on the iOS TestFlight program, so it’s unsure about the availability of the feature on Apple’s platform.

Also, WhatsApp is expected to introduce a reverse image search on the app. This will allow users to check images on the web and see if it’s authentic or not.
