Ever since the novel coronavirus spread its wings in India, the government is trying to ensure the safety and health of citizens in plenty of ways.

The government has announced that it will conduct a telephonic survey to receive feedback from the citizens on COVID-19. The survey will be carried out by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India.

The Centre has not announced the exact date when the survey is launched. The fear of infection spreading at a fast rate is very high even amid strict lockdown conditions and social distancing practices.

The government, therefore, has launched a slew of services like the Aarogya Setu App to create awareness on the spread of the infection and has also ensured that a door-to-door survey is conducted to take a census of people infected but are unwilling to disclose.

Now, the Government of India will be conducting a Telephonic Survey calling up citizens on their mobile phones across the country. So, relax don’t panic on such calls.

# Only a phone call from the number 1921 is an authentic survey-related call, as per the health ministry notification.

The health ministry has requested states and union territories to inform people about the survey and also about the phishing attempts by dubious callers.

The state/UT health departments have also been asked to post information on their official websites.

Mind it, there could still be spammers who call on the pretext of the government survey, so make sure you don’t give out any personal information. The notification doesn’t mention when the survey will be carried out.
